Detect AI generated images

What is this site?

This site does not provide any way to detect whether or not an image is AI generated or not. It actually never has.

This started as a social experiment and up until July 25th 2025 these are the results:

• 25.000 page visits
• 28.300 “analyzes“ of images comprising about 157 hours of collective wait time for the images to “finish“.
• The site was used as “proof“ in countless twitter beefs and forum threads, being proof in whatever direction suited the argument.

What is this site actually doing then?

It had an image picker form where you could pick your image to “analyze“. After hitting start you saw some smoke and mirrors showing “progress“ and then you would get a result between 90-99 percent likelyhood of being AI-generated.

The image never even leaves your browser.

What was learned by doing this experiment?

• While viewing the site‘s spread throughout the internet I found other sites doing the same fake song and dance. However some are far more nefarious in that your image is uploaded to their servers and who knows what the website owner will do with those images?
• You should never use sites such as these and expect them to give any valuable information!
